The Waukegan Park District hosted the first Eggstravaganza Trail in 1996 at then Belvidere Park, which is now Corrine J. Rose Park. This year, approximately 16,000 eggs filled with candy will be distributed to children. The eggs were filled by volunteers from Assured Healthcare and Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County – Waukegan. The Great Lakes Credit Union is sponsoring the event.
The 25th Annual Eggstravaganza Trail is hosted as part of the GO WAUKEGAN community initiative. In collaboration with the Lake County Health Department, the Waukegan Park District launched the community initiative to improve the health and wellness of local residents by enhancing and increasing the shared experience of walking through activities, education, and collaboration.
Preregistration is not required and there is no cost to participate. More information is available at waukeganparks.org/eggstravaganza. For more information, contact Julia Sanchez at jrsanchez@waukeganparks.org or (847) 360-4707.
