Waukegan Park District Celebrates Black History Month

The Waukegan Park District is celebrating Black History Month with special programming throughout the month of February. The programs and events will honor African Americans and their contributions to art, culture, and local history.

Support the Waukegan Parks Foundation at the Party for the Parks Fundraiser! Your ticket includes access to a silent auction, food, refreshments, drawings, and live music! All proceeds will benefit the Waukegan Parks Foundation to support community initiatives in the parks.

26th Annual Eggstravaganza Trail

The Waukegan Park District is hosting the 26th Annual Eggstravaganza Trail on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 9am to 11am at Corrine J. Rose Park, located at 412 S. Lewis Avenue. Children ages 2 to 13 will have the opportunity to hop along the bunny trail and collect eggs from the Easter Bunny and friends, while supplies last.

Special Recreation Service of Northern Lake County - Waukegan

 Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County (SRSNLC) is an intergovernmental cooperative entity that provides community recreation to persons with disabilities at the Waukegan Park District and the Zion Park District. The Waukegan Park District has been a member park district of SRSNLC since 2000. Their mission is to educate citizens to become responsible, productive, and contributing members of our society by preparing them through recreation in a dynamic and caring environment, promoting enthusiasm, and inviting their participation.

Youth Sports Programs

The Waukegan Park District offers a series of youth programs that focus on the fundamentals of each game. Teamwork and sportsmanship are emphasized in the team sports. In all clinics and skills programs, participants learn the rules of the game, practice basic skills and play games to gain experience. All skill levels are welcome!
