Sunday, December 7 from 1 - 4 pm and Monday, December 8 from 6 – 8:30 pm at the
Dr. Lynn Schornick Theatre in the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, 39 Jack Benny
Drive. The production requires two males and three females – with one playing a 16 year old, and two actors in their mid-20s to 30s. The 2 male actors range between 20 to 60+ years of age with the lead character playing a mid-30s to 40s age range. Auditions will be an open call with cold readings from the script. Please click here

The Waukegan Park District is hosting the fourth annual Food for Paws Holiday Pet Food Drive, underway now through December 12. All donations are given to WAGS (Waukegan Animals Getting Saved), a local organization that works to offset costs involved in caring for homeless animals at Waukegan Animal Control. It will be at the Jane Addams Center, in Bowen Park, and families will meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and an Elf. Governor Pat Quinn came to the Field House on Saturday November 1 to announce that the Waukegan Park District was awarded a $2.5 mill on PARC (Park and Recreation Construction) grant. The funds will be used to help build an indoor pool addition to the Field House Sports and Fitness Center in Hinkston Park.

The Waukegan Park District was honored by the Illinois Association of Park Districts with four Best of the Best Awards at the Annual Awards Gala on Friday, October 24. Dan Moran, a reporter with the Lake County News Sun received the Illinois Parks’ Top Journalist award. Best Friend of Illinois Parks-Mid-sized business was awarded to North Shore Gas. Cultural Arts Division-Welcome Rebecca Blumer, newest voice instructor at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts. Rebecca will be teaching private voice lessons for ages 12 and up at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts on Wednesdays between the hours of 5-7pm starting November 12.
