Waukegan History Museum Companion

 Waukegan History Museum Companion Button

The Waukegan History Museum Companion gives you the chance to participate in self-guided history tours of different locations in Waukegan, including parks, statues, and historic landmarks. Users will also be able to read short histories and see photographs of individuals and places with important significance in Waukegan’s history.

Waukegan History Museum Companion can also be found under “Activities” on the Waukegan Park District’s mobile app. Historical content is compiled from the Waukegan Historical Society’s John L. Raymond Research Library in Lilac Cottage at Bowen Park and will be translated into Spanish. Coming later this summer, sites and information related to Ray Bradbury will be featured around the centennial of his birth. Some topics include African American History, Latino History, Waukegan Harbor, and coming soon a detailed history of many of the historic homes on Sheridan Road. Additional features related to nature will also be added.

Access the app by clicking here! The app includes a series of quests or historical challenges for the user, click here for the flyer.
