Biodiversity

Come and learn about the natural world at Nature’s Classroom. Special guest, Belynda Alberte from the Lake County Forest Preserve, will be offering four free programs this summer going over the biodiversity around Waukegan and Nature’s Classroom. Registration is not required.

Come learn about Biodiversity on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 2pm to 3pm at Nature’s Classroom, located at 2255 W. York House Road in Bevier Park. Participants will learn about the concept of biodiversity and its importance to the natural world. The concept of native versus invasive species will be introduced and the effect each type of organism has on the environment will be explained. A biodiversity related activity will be played outside after introducing the concepts listed above and an informational handout will be provided.
