Waukegan Concert Chorus presents Solos Sung and Played

Waukegan, Illinois (May 9, 2025) – The Waukegan Concert Chorus presents Solos Sung and Played on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 4pm to 5pm at the Dr. Lynn Schornick Theatre in the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, located at 39 Jack Benny Drive in Bowen Park. Established in 1976, the Waukegan Concert Chorus is a sister organization to the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra. 

The Waukegan Concert Chorus will sing the following songs:

  • Hang On, Little Tomato arranged by Abbey, Forbes and Laudedale Fiona Tranter, soloist

  • The Times They are a Changin arranged by Bob Dylan/Adam Podd
  • Hold the Wind arranged by Margaret Bonds, Alice Alviani, soloist
  • Peter, Go Ring Dem Bells arranged by Margaret Bonds, Audrey Wagerman, soloist
  • Dry Bones arranged by Margaret Bonds, D’Anne Stiles, soloist
  • The Water is Wide arranged for Hammer Dulcimer, Ellen Kiernan, soloist
  • Sit Down Servant arranged by Margaret Bonds, Alice Alviani and Joe Russell, duet
  • Wade in the Water – spiritual, arranged by Harry T. Burleigh, Joe Russell, soloist
  • All My Trials arranged by Norman Luboff
  • Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit arranged by William L. Dawson

A ticket is required to attend the concert. The following ticket options are available:

  • Students and Children (18 years and younger): Free
  • General Admission: $20

About the Waukegan Park District

Nationally accredited by the NRPA Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and State accredited through the IAPD Distinguished Agency Accreditation, the WPD has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Triple Crown Award for receiving the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The WPD was awarded the NRPA National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management in 2013, and was named a Gold Medal Finalist in 2012, 2013, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
