Waukegan Symphony Orchestra & Concert Chorus

With support from the Waukegan Park District, the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra and Concert Chorus have been a longstanding tradition in the community, offering a unique musical experience for all ages. The programming is supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the Waukegan Arts Council and sponsorships from Kaiser, Shepherd & Nakon, P.C. and Harry E. Came.

Waukegan Symphony Orchestra

Established in 1974, the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra is led by Music Director Alexander Platt. The Waukegan Symphony Orchestra provides a unique performance opportunity for more than 50 devoted musicians of varying ages and levels of musical experience. Throughout the season, concerts will feature guest soloists from around the country.

The Waukegan Symphony Orchestra will present the following concerts this season at the Orlin D. Trapp Auditorium, located at 2325 Brookside Avenue on Waukegan High School’s Brookside Campus:

Waukegan Concert Chorus

The Waukegan Concert Chorus (WCC) was established as a community chorus in 1976 to sing with the Waukegan Symphony Orchestra (WSO) in a performance of Verdi’s Requiem. The members of the community recognized the great benefit of retaining such a cultural asset in the community and the WCC continued as an independent sister organization to the WSO. Today, Music Director Randy Casey’s baton leads this community chorus.

The Waukegan Concert Chorus will present the following concerts this season at the Dr. Lynn Schornick Theatre in the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, located at 39 Jack Benny Drive in Bowen Park:
