Entrance to the museum and its exhibits is free. The museum itself is a permanent exhibit of life in Waukegan during the 1870’s. Temporary exhibits rotate throughout the year and are noted in the quarterly program guide. Current temporary exhibit is Wet V. Dry Prohibition in Waukegan.

The Black History Month Pop-Up Exhibit features the Anti-Slavery Movement, Former Slaves Who Moved to Waukegan, Waukegan’s Segregated Neighborhood-Frog Island, and Obstacles and Milestones.
