Theatre Classes & Programs

The Waukegan Park District offers theatre programs for children designed to give young children the opportunity to learn the basics of live theatrical presentation. Children receive instruction in selecting costumes, understanding stage directions, proper use of stage make up, and more.

Preschool Theatre Camp
A new way to be introduced to theatre! Play with puppets, model magic, drawing, and imaginative games, Next, a story is read then acted out during each class time. Children must be toilet trained.
Location: Jack Benny Center for the Arts • Fee: $40 per resident/$45 per nonresident

Young Actor’s Theatre Show
From auditions to a performance for family and friends, participants in the Young Actor’s Theatre Show will get a high quality and fun theatre experience performing a modern classic from Disney, FROZEN KIDS. Participants receive a script, CD and T-shirt.
Location: Jack Benny Center for the Arts • Fee: $120 per resident/$130 per nonresident
