Hello, Special Recreation Families and interested individuals!

We are offering some in-person programs, while still having virtual options. For more information regarding our programs, please click on the link below or check us out on the Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County-Facebook Page (facebook.com/SRSNLCWaukegan) for fun activities that you can do while home. Don’t worry if you don’t have Facebook, we are willing to email items to you. Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County (SRSNLC) is an intergovernmental cooperative entity that provides community therapeutic recreation to person with disabilities in the member districts of: Round Lake Area Park District, Lindenhurst Park District, Zion Park District and Waukegan Park District. As a member of SRSNLC, Waukegan Park District conducts a variety of year-round recreation programs for individuals with disabilities, ages four and older, and assists the Waukegan Park District with inclusion needs. Program options include: social outings, dances, indoor and outdoor fitness programs, art and craft programs, bowling leagues, summer, spring, and winter day camps, youth and teen specific programs, virtual programs, and sports teams that compete in the Special Olympics of Illinois.

It is the MISSION of SRSNLC to educate our citizens to become responsible, productive, healthy, and contributing members of our society by preparing them through recreation with a dynamic and caring environment, which excites them and invites them to participate.
