The Waukegan Park District and Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County – Waukegan invite you to a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Adaptive Recreation Center on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 11am. Located at 540 S. McAlister Avenue in Roosevelt Park, the Adaptive Recreation Center features seven rooms designed for individuals with disabilities. From a multi-sensory interactive room to a demonstration kitchen, the renovated facility will allow for the expansion of special recreation services.

Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County (SRSNLC) is an intergovernmental cooperative entity that provides community recreation to persons with disabilities in the member park districts of Waukegan and Zion. The Waukegan Park District has been a member of SRSNLC since 2000. It is the mission of SRSNLC to educate citizens to become responsible, productive, healthy, and contributing members of our society by preparing them through recreation with a dynamic and caring environment, which excites them and invites them to participate.
