Polar Bear Plunge 2014



What's Your Reason for Freezin'?

Here’s a reason for freezin’! You’re invited to the 15th Annual Polar Bear Plunge hosted by the Waukegan Park District and the City of Waukegan on Wednesday, January 1, from 10-11am at the Waukegan Beach.


Join the brrrrrave citizens from Lake County and plunge into Lake Michigan this year. Proceeds from the Waukegan Polar Bear Plunge go to the SRSNLC- Waukegan Scholarship program. This program helps individuals with disabilities participate in camps, athletics, health and fitness programs, and much more.


Join the Pledging Program this year and help us raise even more financial support for individuals with disabilities in this community! Pledging Forms are linked below. Register with a minimum of $50 by DECEMBER 6th to receive a limited edition hooded sweatshirt.

To receive a Limited Edition T-shirt, plungers can pre-register for $10 until 4pm on December 30. Day-of-registration costs $15 and begins at 9am.   

*T-shirts and Pledging Program Sweatshirts are given to the first 500 registrants. 


Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or fresh face, the Polar Bear Plunge is the place for you! Aqua shoes or other footwear is required. Food and other refreshments will be available for sale on site.
