Polar Bear Plunge 2016


Here's a Reason for Freezin'!

Here’s a reason for freezin’! You’re invited to the 17th Annual Polar Bear Plunge hosted by the Waukegan Park District and the City of Waukegan on Friday, January 1, from 10-11am at the Waukegan Beach, 201 Seahorse Drive, Waukegan.


Join the brrrrrave citizens from Lake County and plunge into Lake Michigan. Proceeds from the Waukegan Polar Bear Plunge go to the SRSNLC- Waukegan Scholarship program. This program helps individuals with disabilities participate in camps, athletics, health and fitness programs, and much more.


To receive a Limited Edition T-shirt, plungers must pre-register by 4pm on December 30. The fee is $15.

Day-of-registration costs $20 and begins at 9am at the beach.

Join the Pledging Program this year and help us raise even more financial support for individuals with disabilities in this community! Pledging Forms are linked below. Register with a minimum of $50 by DECEMBER 14th to receive a limited edition hooded sweatshirt.

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or fresh face, the Polar Bear Plunge is the place for you! Aqua shoes or other fitted footwear is required.


*T-shirts are given to the first 500 registrants.
